THE Heritage Waterhole Rocks
14th - 18th October 2026
The Heritage Waterhole Rocks rock’n’roll festival, held in mid-October, is a huge spectacle of joy, energy, fashion and colour. For four and a half days, the non-stop rock’n’roll music and dancing features the 1950’s and 60’s era, with a modern twist.
Multiple live bands from all over South East Queensland perform rock’n’roll, rockabilly, swing, jive, plus much more, to the dancers’ delight. A 220 m² purpose-built wooden dance floor is fully undercover, along with an adjoining large seating area.
Patrons mostly camp on-site at the spacious Nanango Showgrounds (powered and un-powered sites available), with the canteen and bar keeping the dancers refreshed. This year we are expecting visitors from five states of Australia to make their way to Nanango, to join the hundreds of dancers for this annual event.
2026 will mark the 13th Waterhole Rocks, which has once again been very generously supported by Heritage Bank Nanango.
The South Burnett Gas Guzzlers hold a Show & Shine on the final day (Sunday) with Classic Cars, Hot Rods and Vintage Caravans on display on the oval. Sunday is also a free entry day, for those wanting to check out the cars and the rock’n’roll music.
The festival is always packed with things to see and do, including fashion competitions, trade stalls and a spit-roast dinner on Opening Night (prior bookings online required). We have also extended the program this year, with some ‘fringe events’ being held on the Monday and Tuesday, leading up to the first of the dancing on the Wednesday evening.
The Waterhole Rocks festival has an enormous following, creating a fun, friendly and unique experience for all those attending. That’s why they all come back, year after year.
